It’s a DO or Die kinda Match Day

Another important match day. This can be the deciding match day if results are not in certain teams’ favour today. The table is still being led by Presentation College with Naparima College 2 points behind, followed by St Anthony’s College and Shiva Boys Hindu College. They will all be hoping for a Presentation College to consider themselves back in the race.

Naparima College v Carapichaima East

The south boys will hope to continue their winning ways when they meet up Carapichaima East Secondary. Tenth place Carapichaima East continue to climb the table once again after a stunning performance against San Juan North Secondary. Both teams will be playing for the win as only that result will guide them closer to the title.

Fatima College v St Anthony’s College

It’s a big game in the North Zone side of things. Two in form team meeting each other at the right time of the season. Fatima College were lucky to not play last weekend, having their game against Trinity College East postponed due to rainfall. However, St Anthony’s College played for a hard fought 2-2 draw when they met with Shiva Boys Hindu College. If 3 points are gained by Fatima College, they can possibly move from 8th position to 5th and St Anthony’s College may jump to second place providing Naparima loses.

Fyzabad Sec v Signal Hill Sec

This game is unpredictable, as both teams are currently having a bad spell. Fyzabad Sec started the Premier League with great performance and wins but they can’t seem to get back their form. They are currently in 13th position while Signal Hill is in 12th position. A win today by either team will be necessary as they are both in the relegation zone.

Shiva Boys Hindu College v St Augustine Sec

This can possibly be the season maker for either team. Shiva Boys are currently in 4th position while St Augustine are in 5th position BUT with a game in hand due to the postponement of their last game. Shiva Boys have seen a dip in their form in recent games while St Augustine won their last played fixture. A win by either team will certainly shake up the top 4 of the Premier League.

Speyside High v St Benedict’s College

Is today the day Speyside High get their second victory of the season? St Benedict’s College will certainly hope not. Recently, these two teams were neighbours at the bottom of the league table. However, past few games, a new St Benedict’s College has been on the field, they are coming for 3 points or they will fight for 1. They are currently in 11th position with a win pushing them to maybe 8th. Speyside High on the other hand, a win will still have them in the relegation zone, but it’s a good start if they plan on not getting relegated.

Trinity College Moka v Presentation College

Let’s see if home advantage would work in Trinity Moka’s favour. It didn’t work against St Anthony’s College but maybe Presentation College would fall victim. The Moka Lions are up against the Pres Lions. It’s a do or die game for either team. Presentation College are in 1st place and a loss will most likely see them slip to 2nd place. However, Trinity College Moka are in 14th position and need to win in order to escape the relegation zone.

San Juan North v Trinity College East

The east are calling this a derby these days. Two middle table teams clashing on this special day. San Juan North are 6th and Trinity College East are 7th. A win for either team would not make a significant difference on their current place. They both will move 1 to 2 places providing the teams in front of them lose their matches.

Queen’s Royal College v St Mary’s College

The players are calling this the derby of all derby but you should just read our previous article on it.
